Atomically Precise Manufacturing

Welcome to Atomically Precise Manufacturing. This is an emerging “bottom up” manufacturing process – using the smallest components of matter – atoms and molecules. This bottom-up approach of atomically precise manufacturing is also called molecular manufacturing which is the ability to mass-produce large atomically precise objects. Bottom-up approaches of atomically precise manufacturing use the chemical properties of single molecules to cause single-molecule components to self-organize into some useful conformations. Such bottom-up approaches should some day be able to produce all sorts of products, starting with 3d printing in the home and later on much more elaborate fabrications.
